maddness

My cat Alfie seems to get an awful lot of infected cuts. He is a very outdoorsy cat and gets into a lot of fights, but I am at the vets almost every month because yet another cut has become infected. This may not be that unusual, but I am worried that it might be caused by some other underlying problem. Can anyone help?? Thanks

I'm wondering, how many cats to you have maddness? In 1 thread you say you have a 15 month old indoor kitten. Now you have Alfie who's outdoors? Is this the same cat that got hurt in 1 of your other threads?

Anyway...keep Alfie indoors. If he is getting hurt that much & getting all these infected cuts, it's best to keep him indoors & get him used to being an indoor cat. Research has shown that indoor cats live much longer/healthier lives than outdoor cats. There are way too many bad things that can befall an outdoor cat.

My 3 cats are indoor cats. The only time they are outdoors is when my man & I are outside for a bit, like BBQing. Then my cats are limited to a very small place they can check out & relax outside, they don't get very far with us.

If you can't keep the kitty inside maybe you should built a kitty yard pen out side. So he will be protected from the other animals and harms of outside living. I myself will only have inside cats. There are to many harmful things in the outside world.
