I made this one up at about 11pm a couple of nights ago:

Once I had a loving home
Now I’m all alone
I watch as every day
People pass me by

Won’t you come and play with me?
I’m really friendly if given a chance!
I only want to play!

I’m only in here
Because my owner left me
I want a new person to love!
Can I come and live with you?
Can I share my love with you?

Please give me a second chance
I can see it in your eyes that you want to!
Why can’t I come and live with you?

Aww, so sad & true! I bet that's what many shelter animals/cats wish to say to us. :(
