In Dutch the word for cat is "kat" but we also have another word "poes" which is a shibboleth for cat lovers! People who don't like cats call them "katten" and people who love them (like undersigned ) call them "poezen". It's like kot'ka and kisa in Russian. I presume y'all speak Russian here.
Where did you get the forum name from, by the way? It's soooo funny!!!111 Fat... Cat! Fat .... Cat! :) :) :)

Fat Cat forum members are from all around the world.
Any members from a different counry speak english here as it's an english speaking forum site.
BTW...I call my cats, my CATS! I have pet names for them like my little babies, my fur babies etc..

Hi Erikkaas I'm glad you brought this up because my wife has russian ancestry and she has always called her cats Korshy or korshishka which she says means ***** or cat. Have you heard this word? ....cheers tenpa
Actually I've just reread your post and kotka is not a long way from korshy is it? .....der...

This is the rich world of the Russian diminutive, tenpa. Her korshishka is the more affective form of the word for female cat.
