Seven months ago I took my cat Daisy to the veterinary. She was always constipated. I thought she had a mega colon. Her stool was very dry and small and she had a stool every 3-4 days. I took away all her dry food, and I always fed her with the canned Wellness food. The veterinary told me she did not have a mega colon but, she had to be on a 1/2 teaspoon daily prescribed medication 'Golytely' mixed into her canned food for the rest of her life. The veterinary also wanted me to feed her with the prescription W/D canned food from Hills. I do not think it is good food but, my cat Daisy liked it. I also found out that MiraLAX is the same powder as the Golytely powder. The vet charged 5 times as much for the Golytely powder.
Two weeks ago, I was looking for a better canned food for my cat Daisy. I am so very happy that I found 'Spot's Stew' by Halo, Purely For Pets for my cat Daisy. I purchased the canned 'Wholesome Chicken Recipe' and 'Succulent Salmon Recipe'. When I opened the can I found whole green peas, chunks of carrots and green beans. I thought she would not like this and pick out the chunks. To my surprise she likes the food very much. She licks the bowl clean. Not only does she like the food, her stool is soft and bulky. I stopped giving her the prescribed Golytely powder. It has been two week now, Daisy's stool is still soft and bulky without the Golytely or MiraLax powder. It is a holistic high quality pet food and sold at PetCo and health food groceries.
Sincerely, Enate
