what is your favorite kind of cat?

I really love cats in general, but when it comes to their color my favorite is a calico or mixed color cat, I think they are so beautiful. I think my next favorite are the buff colored.

Yeah, all cats are great, but I like solid gray and solid black. I think they're so pretty, and as to the kind of cats, I really like Persian, though they're tough to groom.

I really love the American Shorthair breed, and I like the more silvery colored coats. I also have a little liking for the Seal Point colored British Shorthair, like my brother Max's cat Esteban. And don't ask me where he got the name, because I've wondered that a few times myself.

My fave color/patterning for cats is Seal Point Siamese. Isn't that the same as the Himalayan and Ragdoll coloring? That's the one I like.

My second fave is the blue-gray of the British Shorthair and the Korat.

They are all elegant and graceful. It's hard to say I like one better than the other. I will say though I like the Russian Blue as well as the calicos. But I love current little baby more than any of them :)

I am a sucker for Tortoiseshell, Calico, and to a lesser degree: Snowshoe coloration.

I like cats who are smart and active.

Short haired cats, though not all, tend to be more active than their gorgeous long haired types, so I lean towards them. I also like short haired cats because they are easier to care for, needing little or no grooming.

I also enjoy cats who stay active into old age and don't just peter out after kittenhood.

The only breeds I am familiar with who stay active are Siamese and their genetic blends, like Oriental Shorthairs.
I have heard Orientals described as 'clingy'.
Mine is. I am retired and usually around to hug him, but I think he might not have been as happy when I was at work, whereas a more independent sort of cat would be.

I am attracted to small cats and if more were known of them, I would consider a Singapura. They have a slight Abyssinian look to them.

I am also aware that cats imprint at an age that is too early to legally release them from their birth home. That means that any cat I get I would prefer to be raised with a lot of interaction with humans.

One of my favorite cat companions was an independent cat who did not like cuddling, but sort of wanted to be treated as an equal in the house rather than as an eternal child. He was a feral cat when I found him and had had little human interaction in his very early years. Sometimes the bond with a cat like that can be very deep and Shadow always made me feel privileged and special because he accepted me as a friend.

Relationships with other animals are somewhat like our relationships with each other, aren't they? Sometimes we think we know what we like, but then we meet someone different and are surprised at how much we like and admire them.

My favorite type of cat would have to be the Egyptian Mau or the Sphyx and hairless breeds. I don't know why but there is something so danged cute about a hairless cat. Maybe its the wrinkles :P

i like calicos and black/whites with long hair they are really sweet for company thats why if you want a furry comfortable pet get cat!
