We've always been partial to Friskies and Whiskas in our home, but sometimes I wonder if maybe we got the right food. Does anyone know of any good cat food- we're thinking of taking in our neighbor's cat when they move, and he's been raised on the cheap foods. Should we keep feeding him what they did, or should we feed him like we fed our cats? Any helpful tips would be appriciated. Thanks so much!

I think the neighbor's cat would have to undergo a period of adjustment as regards to the kind of diet he would be feed. In my opinion you should feed him the same foods as of your cat pets.

I like the IAMS cats’ food, I took the 30-day challenge where they give you a free bag to try and I was incredibly pleased with the outcome, I haven’t used anything else since.

A poor quality diet can cause problems for your cat. In some cats corn based foods can lead to allergies. Since it is a cat's nature to eat only meat, some recommend a homemade raw meat diet.

I guess it all depends on your cat, individually, our vet told us that each cat has its own diet regimen to follow and which one would be best,my kitty likes whiskas and thats what goes with her.

We have been using precise all natural cat food, it goes on sale a lot at our pet store, has no additives and Kris just gulps it right up. They make canned and dry foods. We prefer to use the dry although for a holiday or birthday treat we give our litle buddy a can.

My 2 cats have only ever had dry food and only 'specialized'foods as in Science Plan &
Royal Canin. I don't always give them the "same" foods, For example : they'll get a special Persian one one time & then a 'for sterilised cats' one....I have occasionally bought them what I thought would be a treat...ie: wet food; & they just sniff it & walk away.... if we're eating we ocasionaly give them a tiny piece of chicken or whatever But they Never eat it !!!! The three cats we had before ate everything....wet, dry,'our food' (although always in small quantities) they lived to (15 & 15- 2 sisters) & 16
I have no idea what the "right" thing to do is.... but 2 of my first generation pets had urinary problems & the third had a tumour in the pancreas, when they passed away so, I guess I'm hoping the two I have will live even longer on this diet ....

I would gradually adjust the new cat to the food you currently use. That is better for it and yourself.
