What food do you use? Why do you prefer the brand of food that you give your cat(s)?
I give my cats primarily dry food. They seem to have really taken a liking to Friskies. So we give them that & just switch up the different flavors that Friskies offers each time we buy them new dry food.
Also, once a week we give them a can a piece of wet food. Again, they seem to really like 9 Lives wet food, so we give them that.
Every once in a while as a treat we will buy them a little can each of Fancy Feast & change up the different flavors when we do get them the cans for a treat.

As a rule we give our cats dry food as the wet food gives them pooping problems such as the stinky poops or poops that stick to their butts, etc. :fart:
We used to give them Purina Cat Chow until the vet once prescribed Hills' Science Diet for a crystal problem one of our males had. Since then we've given them the appropriate formulation of Science Diet that fits their age and health/weight. They love it and have had much fewer health related issues because of it. It's good stuff!

In gen its always best to do research before you buy pet food. Pet food has few regulations, basically if you feed a cat/dog for 30 days on a food and it hasn't lost weight, died or gotten sick its okay to market it. In 2007 millions got sick from the Recalls.
How many unhealthy things do humans do to themselves, that in 30 days cause such bad issue? None really. If you smoke, or drink in 30 days you'll probably have not a lot of signs. You may cough or have bad breath, but it takes months, years to happen, same with pet foods.
S/D science diet,9 lives have all been recalled and probably have killed cats. Then again Orijen got recalled in Astraillia and led to 1 cat death so I cannot truthfully say any cat food is 100% safe anymore.
Once again not Negative, realistic.

I have tried many brands over the 3 years I've been a cat owner. The brand I settled on was Solid Gold's Indigo Moon.
Then, I moved and until I can determine if I can find Indigo Moon in my new location, I have mixed in Natural Balance's LID Venison & Green Pea (dry & canned). So they are still on a similar quality food and already adjusted if it does get switched over.
My male was fed 9Lives when he was still an outdoor stray, but that's only because it was just too costly to feed him the higher quality kibble, when his food bowl was shared by with a family of raccoons. He got switched over as soon as he moved indoors.
