I'm not sure if this is an issue or what, but Lucy has a little problem with hitting the litter box when she urinates.
Most of it goes in the litter box, but I've noticed a little bit against the wall & on the top of the rim of the litter box.
We thought it was because they needed a bigger litter box for them both, so we got them a much longer & deeper litter box.
Lucy isn't as bad as she used to be, but sometimes I will notice the urine on the top of the rim & also on the back of the wall.
I don't know if she doesn't squat down enough or if she's just not aiming down right or what, I've never had the chance to watch her while she's using the litter box.
What do you all think could be the problem?

I had a cat that did that all her life (they were 3 sharing a litter box) I did what you did .... she never really changed ...but, I never really tried to 'teach' her otherwise as I had/have a 'top' on the tray so, stayed 'inside' so to speak & I just had to clean it more often...(like everyday)

Thanks nenella! :)
I scoop the litter box everyday & in scooping it when I see any urine on the rim or on the back of the wall I do clean it up.
I'm thinking that she just may miss sometimes, which is ok. I just wasn't sure if this was a litter problem, litter box problem or she doesn't like sharing with EJ problem.
Maybe try using separate boxes for a week and see what she does? That might be the problem.
My sister once had a cat who totally missed the litter box! She'd squat like normal, but missed it entirely and it went on the carpet. Yuck! I think she stopped aiming so high after a while though. LOL

I think that's the problem that Lucy has, I watched her 1 time not too long ago when she was in the litter box. She squats down, but not far down enough.
I wonder if it could be the type of litter? I use the smaller grain litter Tidy Cat for multiple cats. I don't like the clay litter as it doesn't clump their urine.
I may get her another litter box & see what happens. They've been sharing a litter box for so long I bet they will share them both still.
That's true.. They'll probably both put them to good use, lol. Have you tried litter boxes with the lid? Like this:

Yeah I have looked at them before Pink. The only problem I see is when EJ will do his "solid business" he will sort of stand up on the litter box. He puts his front paws on the top of the rim & do his "business". So if I got a covered litter box, he probably wouldn't be comfortable enough to go potty in it.
LOL...my cat's are weird when they go to the bathroom! :D
Well then that's out of the question! lol. How cool is this litter box??

That is a pretty cool litter box. If I had more room I would get that for the spoiled babies.
LOL...I LOVE your new avatar! :thumb:
