I've been a little bit on the worried side about my furbaby boy EJ. My fiance & I have noticed him limping a little bit here & there lately. It's more like when he gets up & starts to walk somewhere. He will limp just a little bit & then he's fine.

I'm not sure if it could be the start of arthritis , he about 8 years old now, so he is getting to be an old man. Although when he runs after the birds in the windows outside, when he's messing with Lucy, you would never know it. :D

What do you all think it could be? Do you all think maybe I could get him some vitamins & he would be ok? I'm going to call the vet really soon to get his opinion, but I wanted to ask you all first.

You know.. This has happened to my cat before, but it was right after she jumped from the fridge to the floor. She isn't the youngest and skinniest of cats so I know it wasn't good for her to do it. But how to ya stop a cat from being a cat? Ya know?

It could be arthritis so I would ask the vet. Maybe he needs some sort of meds like you said about the vitamins.

Yeah I'm gonna call him on Monday & see what's going on. I'm hoping I can get a prescription from him so that I can get the meds if EJ needs them on 1800petmeds. My cousin loves that site & says you can get the exact same meds for your pets but much cheaper than the vets charge.

You know, I did have a thought that Lucy may be beating on EJ hard when we aren't home. I know they get in some fights when we are home & she can pull him down to the floor hard. She has her back claws too so I'm HOPING that isn't the case. If it is, we just may be forced to give her away. :( I would hate to do it, but I can't have her hurting EJ to the point of him limping & goodness knows what else.

I would call a vet but it may very well be arthritis. He hasn't done any jumping from high places has he? I hope he is ok. As far as lucy's claws...clip them short. I use a pair of small nail clippers on Brownie.

Yeah I gotta get her claws clipped. I don't know Persian hun if I can do them myself, she doesn't like her back paws played with, so it just may be a struggle.

No, EJ hasn't done any unusual jumping from anywhere higher. Just his normal jumping on the bed, couches, chairs & the window sills. He does land hard from the windows, I can alway hear the "thunk" when he jumps down so that could be it.

Thanks ladies. :)

Yes there is ladies.

I called the vet & he wants to see EJ this Saturday. So, we will go over there so we can get him checked out. Then we will know if we can give him vitamins or what's going on with his leg.

He seems to be ok, the vet couldn't find anything. He thinks though that EJ might have slight arthritis, so he recommended some vitamins for him. I'm going to go on 1-800-petmeds to check them out & order him some. LOL...should be fun to shove pills down EJ, never did it before so I'm not sure how he will take them.
