My sister has a cat and it is really mean. You can’t walk across the floor without it attacking your feet. At first we thought the cat was just playing, but it literally attacks you. She has had this cat for about three years and she got it when it was a kitten. Has anyone else ever ran into this type of problem?

we had one like this one time, it was from a litter that one of our cats had, so we new it wasnt abused or anything, but it was so mean, we couldnt get near it without getting scratched, if we tried to hold it then it would let out a yowl and scratch like crazy, and this was with anybody, none of us could get the cat to be social, we kept the cat for a year and nothing changed, we finally gave the cat to a friend that needed one for the mice that were getting in his barn.

This kind of thing happens if you don't socailize the kitten to people at an early age or play with a kitten with your hands or hand toys. NEVER play using hands with a kitten!

I know exactly what you're talking about. I had a kitten that was really aggressive for about a year. He would jump on me and attack me for no reason out of the blue. The thing that finally changed his behavior was when I adopted a second cat. The new cat calmed him down, for some reason. My reformed kitty is now nearly 9 years old, and he's very sweet and friendly. So there is some hope that yours will change! I think it takes a lot of patience and persistence to help an aggressive kitty. The worst thing you can do is punish your cat for aggressive behavior as this makes the cats anxiety worse. I hope things get better for you. That's a very difficult problem.
