Ok guys, I have yet another kitten "issue".

Lady has been digging in the dirt of our 2 only house plants during the night. She tried doing that during the day when we were home, but we squirted her with water, told her NO & called her a bad girl. Well now since she can't get away with digging in the plants during the day, she's taken to doing it at night.

Everynight for the past 3 nights she digs in the plants. When I wake up in the AM there is dirt all over the floor & the area where the 2 plants are sitting in. Myself & my fiance have both taken her to the plants while the mess is still there, showed her & tapped her nose & the top of her head saying NO & bad girl, but she still goes back to do it.

What else can we do to stop her from digging in the plants? As far as we can tell she isn't squatting in them, just digging in the dirt.

Is the kitty going to the bath room in the plant dirt and was it a outside cat when you got it? I have three outside cats and some time they sleep in the garage at night if it is cold outside and they do use the litter box in the garage.

Yeah we found out this AM that she is at least urinating in the plants. We had another mess to clean up this AM.

She was never an outside cat, she was born from a litter, our neighbor took her in after she was weaned. He couldn't handle her being a kitten, so we took her in & she's been inside with my other 2 older cats ever since.

That's the thing I don't get here guys, she's goes in the litter box all the time, why dig the dirt & the urinate in it?? :dunno:

We scoop the litter box 2 times a day for all of them, plus we have a HUGE litter box, so there's more than enough room for them all to do their business when they need to. Space constraints made it that we can't have 2 litter boxes, but they've been going OK in the 1 big 1 for a little bit now.

I just don't get it! :dunno: Honestly here guys, I got the number to a couple No Kill shelters today & if she doesn't straighten up we are going to place her in 1 of the shelters I checked out today online. We didn't really want to, but she's getting out of hand.

She knows she's done wrong becaus when we got up earlier this AM & saw the mess, she ran under the bed because she didn't want to get sprayed & called a bad girl. So if she doesn't want to get "talked to", why continue doing it?? :dunno::nono:
