View Full Version : Where O Where Can Her "Babies" Be?

We call the little balled up cigarette packs "babies" because our previous cat Nikki talked to them like they were her babies.
Well, now Gracie loves them just as well as Nikki did HOWEVER she insists on hiding them. I just don't understand it. She plays with them for 5 minutes to a half an hour and then, like a compulsion, she has to hide them.
Only thing is, I'm not sure where the main hiding place is anymore. It used to be under the refrigerator or the stove, but we've closed up those spaces. Then it became under the sofa or the recliners, or under my dresser. But lately we've not been finding any "treasure troves" in those typical places.
So where in the world is she stashing them!?! I am truly at my wit's end in seeking out hiding places. Does anyone here have any other suggestions on where their cats have typically hidden favorite small toys?
Thanks,
Lynn

LOL...Lynn, that's too funny, Gracies makes toys out of the cigarette boxes! :D
Welcome back by the way, we have missed you hun. :)
Hmmm, honestly, all the places you have mentioned are where my 3 will kick/hide their favorite toys.
Have you looked under the bed(s)? I think the cases would be too big to fit under the closet, but just in case, check out your closets.
I know Lady when she plays with the milk rings, she stashes them all in this 1 closet. LOL...everytime she has no more milk rings all I need to do is look in this 1 closet & 90% of them are in there. :catlol:

Ha! I guess they all do the same thing. Thanks so much for the guesses. Jerry went hunting for some yesterday and found several underneath the entertainment center. Still that doesn't account for 75% of them. So I guess we've to keep looking.
Thanks so much for the welcome back. The new job has had me wrapped up tightly although I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Did I tell you what it was? Adoption Counselor at the local SPCA! You know I am out-of-my-mind happy.
And more news! Our new family member is coming home today. We've yet to settle on a name for him yet, but he's a buff tabby who will come close to matching Miss Gracie's coloring. The SPCA guesses he's about 8 months old (my guess is closer to a year, but we'll see) - but my Lord what a tank! He already weighs in at a whopping 13 pounds.
I can't wait to get him home! Five hours and counting!!
How's everything in your neck of the woods? :-)

How great congratulations on your new family member & your new job Lynn hun. :)
We want pictures as soon as you can take them, you know we loves pictures.
Lady is now out of milk rings so I for sure have to go do some major searching tonight when I get home for her "toys". If she doesn't have toys, she plays with things she shouldn't...LOL...(she's only like 7 months old).
We now have 3 cats, when you get time check out the kitten forum I have some posts there about our new addition Lady & I have a picture of her up as well. :)

Well, Georgie is home and chillin'. Gracie's being her typical fiesty self. Georgie just had his neutering surgery 4 days ago so he's not quite up to par yet, plus he's sneezing a little bit - might have a bit of that kitty cold (URI). Gracie might catch it too, but oh well, ce la'vie (however you spell it).
They're getting along just fine. She wants to play, he wants to rest. They'll figure it out. I'll let you know how it goes. :-)

Hi Sapphire hun. No more pics yet. Georgie has finally gotten over the "kitty cold." Just has a few residual sneezes here and there. He's eating like a horse and filling out to his proper size nicely - he's going to be enormous. And he's finally started being his kitten self and romping and playing. Gracie loves roughhousing with him; they also like playing with a box I just got from the grocery store - it has a nice cat-sized hole in the bottom that the jump in and out of at each other. I'll try to get some pics soon.
Oh! And yesterday Georgie finally decided to get close with the resting Gracie and gave her face and head a wash. It was so sweet. :-) Hopefully they will be cuddling together soon. Gracie's just a little bit timid about his size and lack of couth. LOL But all will be well.

Oh, and about the "babies" - They do continue to disappear. We've been making a batch of new ones and as each is put out for play, "poof" they go. :) Two places we've discovered they are going - under the entertainment center and under the bookcase in the "dining room". Both pieces of furniture are too large to be moved without unloading everything in them. So, thus ends the mystery!
